Primary teacher needed for Lesotho

A primary school teacher is required to serve at Mokhotlong, Lesotho. This position is for a minimum of six months. This new position will be working in a church school. Expressions of interest to AIM Australia.

 

 
English class facilitator in Madagascar

June 2010: A facilitator is required for English-conversation classes at a reformed seminary, in Madagascar.

Native English speakers are needed to run a conversation class for pastoral candidates in partnership with Global Action School, a Malagasy-run mission. Many pastoral candidates are not Christians but are seeking employment in the church. The mission of Global Action is to reach them before they reach the pulpit. This is an exciting, challenging new position. Expressions of interest to AIM Australia. Earliest arrival date is February 2011 for 3 to 12 months.

 

 

 
December 2010 Youth and Children's Ministry Team for Ssese Islands

AIM Australia is forming a team of 8 to undertake youth and children's ministry on the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria, Uganda. The team will be from mid December 2010 to mid January 2011.  This team will be led by Mick Alley from Australia and will coordinate with an African pastor and AIM's short-term team in Uganda. These positions are for more than one year. They will require people who meet AIM's requirements which include Bible knowledge and demonstrated abilities in making disciples. AIM places a strong emphasis on new workers learning a local language. The positions are unpaid and will require workers being backed by a team of prayer and financial supporters. Medical Training Elective opportunities

AIM can place Medical Elective students in one of a number of hospitals in Africa. We require people with a Chrstian commitment and in their final years of their medical degree. Please inquire early. Some placements need to be made 12 months in advance, due to the high demand on positions.

Mediquest teams are being formed for people in the early stages of health care training. These teams are usually for six weeks and provide an orientation to health care ministries in Africa.

Multi-Media journalist/ photographer

AIM's On-field Media Unit urgently requires a person skilled in either photography; videography or writing. Secondary skills of web development, graphic design and music composition are also sought. A minimum term of service is three months. Bring your own Mac computer.  This is voluntary position. The position is strategic in promoting AIM ministries and challenges faced in Africa as we seek to have Christ-centred churches among all African peoples. See some of the OFM videos on this website.

Urgent: June 2010: Teachers needed

Various priority teaching positons are available in Africa as at June 2010. These include:

Teacher and /or an assistant teacher, Windhoek, Namibia: This person will assist Family of Hope Services to teach children in a remedial program. These are children not registered in schools becasue they are behind required levels or street children) iministries. The position is urgent for 2010.

Teacher or assistant teacher, Arandis, Namibia: Our partner, Hope's Promise Orphans Ministries requires a middle school teacher for Tlitha Kumi Chirstian Academy for a class of 10-14 students. The person must have a four year teaching degree and be able to be certified in Language/Arts or Maths/Science. Hopes Promise is a Christian, humanitarian aid organization reflecting God's heart in redeeming the lives of the fatherless and orphaned children by establishing homes to feed, heal, teach and share Christ's love.

Homeschool teacher is requried for Kalacha, Kenya from mid August to December.

Primary School teacher needed at Arandis, Namibia for a class of 10-14 stuidents with Hope's Promise Orphans ministry. Must have a four-year teaching degree and be able to register in Elementary Education, grades 1-5.

Haven of Peace Academy in Tanzania requires a 5th grade teacher fluent in English, under 55 years and a committed Christian in agreement with HOPAC's faith statement. HOPAC pay teachers a monthly living allowance.

Two primary school teachers are needed in Tanzania to teach a kindergarten class and teenage students. A special needs teacher may also be required to work children and their families in the village.

 Anglican Music Institute in Madagascar need 2 piano teachers; 1 male and 1 female voiuce teachers; a Music Theory Teacher and Composer / choir Conductor. Perference is for teaches to come for the school year, September to June.

 A teacher of English (TESOL / TEFL) is required at the Rwanda Institute of Evangelical Theology (RIET)

June 2010:Urgent need: Social Worker for Uganda

There is an urgent need for social workers in Namibia. The Hope's Promise Orphan Ministries (HPOM) need a social worker to oversee the care and conditrion of children with foster families. A BA in Social Services/ Social Work or Masters in Social Work is required. It is desireable to have experience as a foster parent.  To inquire cotnact AIM Australia.

  

 
Medical and health professionals

June 2010: Medical and health proferssionals are required in several places in Africa. The needs include phsyiotherapists; nurses; occupational therapists; consultant  obstretician / gynaecologist; consultant paediatrician; consultant general surgeon; family practice consultants; psychiatrists and therapists; and speech therapists. Opportunities exisit for short-term (up to 12 months) and longer -term placements. For details contact AIM Australia.

 

 
Teachers for Sudan

March 2010:  AIM requires primary and secondary teachers to work in  South Sudan.

A Presbyterian girls primary school requires teachers from  April to December. Prefered time is 6 to 12 months with a minimum of 3 months. Trained teachers and untrained highschool graduates may be suitable.

A new Africa Inland Church secondary school requires trained and untrained teachers with highschool qualifications. Term 2 begins in Febraury 2010. A new senior groups commences in May 2010. Preferable term is 6-12 months with a minimum of 3 months.
