Creation of Hope

Over 500 orphans live in and around the small community of Kikima, Kenya. For those who live with elderly grandparents, or worse—in a child-headed home—the situation seems hopeless. Many run away to the big cities hoping for a better life. Few will find it.

Established in March 2008, Creation of Hope is an exciting partnership between AIM Canada, the churches and communities around Kikima, and a network of enthusiastic supporters in Canada. Through the project, the local church provides support to the region’s orphans--either through a local orphanage called the Hope Development Centre, or by enabling grandparents or other guardians to care for these children. Families that care for orphans at great personal cost are assisted through monthly food hampers and other basic necessities such as blankets and school supplies. The project also provides educational seminars, a community garden, and medical care.
