The bullet-ridden town of Bunia in DR Congo has enjoyed just two years of peace since its involvement in the deadliest conflict since World War II.

CECA-20 (AIM’s partner church) is working to help the brand-new population of 500 street Toni Stenger lists simple ways to help Bunia's street kids:

$5 feeds 50 kids for one day, or sends one child to school for an entire month.
 
$80 buys a full set of bedding: mattress, blankets and sheets

$1500 will build a simple tin-roofed home.
kids in the region, children whose parents have either died or fled town. A small home has been built where they are provided with shelter, clothing, food and schooling until they are either adopted into a foster reintegrated with extended family.

AIM missionary Toni Stenger says a local pastor is playing the role of both father and spiritual mentor. Nearby widows are caring for everyday physical needs. But Stenger says that a bigger shelter is needed to expand the ministry.

“Our little center cannot take more than 50 boys at a time,” she says. “As it is, they are cramped into two rooms where they sleep on papyrus mats.”
