Nearly four million people died as a result of DR Congo’s 10-year war-- the deadliest conflict since World War II. Today in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), AIM’s partner church is making a huge difference in primary and secondary education.

Altogether the CECA-20 church administers almost 500 schools— schools where young people are taught Bible in class, and witness practical Christian living through their teachers.

In order to support CECA 20’s Education department, AIM has focused on a few key areas.

i) Because the Congolese government has reneged on promises to pay teacher’s salaries, AIM helps support qualified Christian teachers.

ii) AIM sponsors seminars and retreats for CECA-20-trained teachers to improve both academic and spiritual teaching.

iii) AIM supports parents in their struggle to rebuild and stock local schools with basic teaching supplies. During the war, many schools were destroyed and looted.
