Nyamakombu Primary School:
A pioneer outreach ministry opportunity
Background/Location
In 1997 a team of missionaries were sent out under the Africa Inland Mission with the view to establish a church among the unevangelized tribe of the Datoga of Northern Tanzania, East Africa. nyamakombu_inset.jpg By God’s grace, within the first 2 years a church was planted. Soon several of the newly converted believers expressed a strong desire for their children to receive a Christian primary level education. The Nyamakombu Primary School (NPS) (Nyamakombu is the name of the village) was officially established in 2002 with formal registration granted in 2005. NPS is located in the bush of north-central Tanzania 20 miles east of Lake Victoria and 2 miles north of the Serengeti National Park. NPS is an English/Swahili medium school.
