ANGIE GODAU WITH CLAUDIA
Angie Godau pictured with Claudia, one of the young women she works with. In an earlier article (click here), we heard from Angie Godau working in Chad’s capital city, N’Djaména. She told of her meetings with young girls caught up in prostitution. Since then the ministry to these girls has grown. Here is an extract from a recent email. Ambassatna and Kabalaye are some of the darkest places in N’Djaména. The girls there are exploited in the worst possible ways. Gangs dominate this area and violence is so prevalent that even the police avoid these districts after dark. But God is doing amazing things! Even when I walk along the road through Ambassatna and Kabalaye women stop me. They ask me to pray for them and tell me their life stories and of traumatic experiences. I read the Bible with them and try to encourage them. I make a note of their name and they invite me to come again and visit them and tell them more about Jesus. The doors are wide open. Christmas has been a wonderful opportunity to invite the girls over to my place. About 15 girls responded to the challenge of following Jesus. Praise the Lord! I can see a real change in about five of those girls. Pray for me, for wisdom in the follow up and for guidance in how to help those who really want to get out of prostitution.
