Heavy fighting in the capital Ndjamena since Sunday has caused many deaths and extensive destruction of the infrastructure. Looting has been rife. The people of Chad need our constant prayers at this time. Please ask the Lord to over-rule and bring a speedy end to the conflict. Remember the challenges faced by our brothers and sisters in the Lord there. At the week-end the Aim missionaries based in Ndjamena, along with other ex-pats, were asked to meet at strategic points in the capital under the protection of the French military. Most have now been evacuated by French military transport to Gabon from where they have been flown to Paris. The first of our AIM missionaries have arrived back in the UK and Germany. Please pray for those missionaries with ministries outside Ndjamena. They have not been able to get to the city for evacuation and some have had to find alternative places of safety. They will now be moving out of Chad to neighbouring Cameroon by road. One couple have a sick child. Please remember them particularly. Chad Crisis fundIf you wish to help the people of Chad, Aim has established the International Famine Relief and Crisis Response Project. If you would like to give to this project it is possible to give online but the quickest way for us to get money to Chad is from donations sent in by cheque or charity voucher. Please make these payable to ‘Aim International’ and enclose a covering letter stating the designation of the gift. For the latest updates, please visit the bbc news website on africa
