Tributes have poured in from all corners of the earth, hailing him as one of the great movers of 20th century evangelicalism, while recalling how he impacted millions of lives through his teaching and books, particularly his (now regarded as a classic) The Cross of Christ. We’re sad at losing such a man, but we know that he did it all with a humble heart to the Lord, and he finished well. We’re in the middle of producing the next African Connection magazine, which will focus on AIM’s health work, and as I think of all the praise that has been given of Stott, I’m reminded of our mission partners, especially those in health care, who are living out of the ‘spotlight’ and will more than likely never receive the same level of praise. However, they, like Stott, are not ‘in it to win it’ for themselves, but ‘in it to win it’ for God. They’re just as important (1 Corinthians 12:12-28) and while we will never know what impact they’ve had on peoples’ lives through their sacrificial service, God knows, and we praise Him for that. Regards,
