Every Christian believer is called to serve the Lord Jesus. For most people this calling is to serve in their home country but for some we have the tremendous privilege of serving in a cross-cultural situation. AIM exists to serve those who are called to minister to the peoples on Africa.
Serving with AIM means you are would be part of a mission organisation which is:
- International, with our members coming from many different parts of the world.
- Interdenominational, in that we work with individuals who come from many different denominations. Our requirement is that they subscribe to an Evangelical Basis of Faith. (Click here to read our statement of faith)
- A 'faith' mission which means that we believe that when the Lord calls a person to a particular ministry, he will also provide all that is necessary to fulfil that ministry. In practical terms, all our missionaries are supported financially by their sending church and often by other supporting churches and individuals. As part of this support we also require that each member has a group of people who are committed to pray for them and their ministry on a regular basis and to provide other practical help and encouragement as they are able.
As a mission agency we believe that our purpose is to enable the church to mobilise and send out their members according to the Great Commission. We work closely with both missionary sending churches in Europe and the church in Africa. Where no church presently exists within a particular African people group or location we will work to see the church established there but the particular denominational affiliation will be decided by national believers.
