Thank God for over 80 students that they have been able to send out as pastoral assistants across Tanzania. They write, “We are privileged to be in the classroom with many students who hunger to know, live, and share the hope and truth of Jesus Christ.” Pray for unity of vision and purpose for the leadership of the school and a passionate commitment to the discipleship and education of the students. Pray that the Weisses would be able to encourage creativity and resourcefulness with what is available locally. Pray for the health and strength of their children as they face frequent bouts of malaria. Geoff has recently taken on the position of Research Associate for AIM International. He is collecting, organizing and distributing data related to unreached people groups. Pray for Geoff as he seeks to enable AIM to be more systematic and strategic in allocating resources. He continues to work part time in clinical medicine as well. Pray for Eleanor as she has begun a one year residency in Palliative Care at the University of Calgary. Pray for wisdom as the Protheroes consider returning to Africa in early 2011. Ask God to direct their steps to the place He would have them to serve. Pray that God would accomplish His purposes through the McNeills, and that they would reflect the character of Christ and be good examples to the students. Pray for the new MK (missionary kid) school that they have been organizing as it begins to take shape. Ask God for wisdom and a smooth path for them to open the school this fall. Pray for John as he has been updating personnel requests for new missionaries to work in a wide variety of areas, from linguistics to women’s ministry. Pray for the Lord to send forth laborers to the harvest field in Chad which still has more than 70 unreached people groups. Coming back from home assignment, and seeing the significant need for aircraft maintenance, the Carpenters have decided to remain in Nairobi this term and serve as a mechanic/engineer. Pray for Tim as he puts his pilot bars “on the shelf” and takes up his wrench. Pray for the family as they adjust to life back in the city.
