Dar and Carolyn Dunham

Retirees Dar and Carolyn Dunham are thankful for the new duplex they were able to move into last year at AIM’s Retirement Center in Florida. Shortly after moving in, they received visits from their family members who live in Australia and Canada. Dar is praising the Lord for an “art room” in the new home where he can use the talents the Lord has given him. Carolyn is thankful for a part time job at a local doctor’s office. Pray for strength and health for the Dunhams and that the Lord would continue to use them in service for Him.

Jerry and Breanna Hurd

Appointees Jerry and Breanna Hurd are praising the Lord that Jerry passed the difficult technical evaluation for mission aviators recently. This month finds them finishing up a support raising trip in Kansas and Texas and preparing to depart for their technical orientation in the fall. Pray for the Hurds (with their three children) as they finalize all of the details for their departure to Africa in January. Pray for God to raise up financial and prayer support for the Hurds as they hope “…to use aircraft to support the African church, reaching those who have not heard of God’s love; flying the desperately ill to a hospital, or a pastor to a remote, dangerous assignment.”

Dan and Val Allen

Appointees Dan and Val Allen can clearly see God’s hand preparing them for missionary service in Mozambique through the years. After receiving his RN degree, Dan met his Brazilian wife, Valeria on a short term mission trip. He later completed his Bible training at Moody Bible Institute with a focus on missions. The Allen’s background in Portuguese makes them particularly well suited to the work in Mozambique where they plan to serve as teachers at the Sofala Bible Institute and helping out with AIDS ministry through the local church. Pray for Dan, Val and their two daughters to raise the necessary support to leave for Africa in October.

When Jay is not ministering through medicine at a local hospital in Minnesota, he and Sandy are reaching out to Africans, and other internationals, in their community. They are praising the Lord for a recent Alpha course they led for international students. Pray for those who received Christ and those who are still seeking.  Ask the Holy Spirit to protect what He has planted in the hearts of students who have come to Christ as they have returned to their home countries after graduation. Pray for small groups which are meeting over the summer months as well.

Mid-America Regional Administrators for the US, Jim and Joan Harding are thankful for the informational trip that Jim was able to make recently to AIM’s Northern Region. He was reminded of the great need of the people there for deliverance from darkness into light. The Hardings, who are based in Texas, have been experiencing health problems recently, and ask prayer for stamina and strength in their busy travel schedules, and also wisdom as they make decisions about the timing of their retirement.

Lynn Crutchley

Praising God for the encouragement and support of family, friends, and the local church, Lynn Crutchley is continuing her ministry to students in Cape Town, South Africa. Pray for students who are experiencing personal problems which make tutoring sessions challenging and unpredictable. Lynn asks us to pray for safety and protection for some refugee students in the English classes at her church who have been threatened by ethnic and racial tensions that are developing in the Cape area. Ask God to bring understanding and peace to the many races who live together in the country of South Africa.
