Don and Alene Dix Print E-mail
Monday, 24 March 2008

Retirees Don and Alene Dix praise the Lord for their good health and special times with their extended family.  They were disappointed last fall when a church missions trip they were scheduled to lead to Angola fell through due to problems obtaining visas.  They are praising God for His perfect timing though, as they were able to obtain two year multiple entry visas.  Pray for their team of six from the Moody Church from March 29 to April 10, as they minister in two different locations through Bible teaching, medical work, and children’s ministry.

Robert and Karis Koehn, Afonsil and Dalva Flores Print E-mail
Saturday, 15 March 2008

Robert and Karis Koehn recently invited fellow missionaries, Afonsil and Dalva Flores to Lamego, Mozambique, to conduct, of all things, a Manioc Seminar. The nationals thought the starchy root was only a once-a-year breakfast meal. The Flores delighted the attendees by showing how it could be grown year around and also showed how it could be prepared for many delicious dishes, even cakes and cookies.  The students even learned to make  a manioc/coconut cake and presented it to the Koehn’s for their 16th Wedding anniversary. Pray that such helpful and creative ideas will reach out to the unchurched.
