Northern Region Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 March 2008

K is a veteran AIM worker who has recently transferred to our Northern Region.  She is praising God for helping her to settle into her new apartment and work through the period of culture shock.  Please pray with K as she concentrates on language learning.  Ask God to provide all that she needs for setting up her house and for language school.

Robert and Karis Koehn, Afonsil and Dalva Flores Print E-mail
Saturday, 15 March 2008

Robert and Karis Koehn recently invited fellow missionaries, Afonsil and Dalva Flores to Lamego, Mozambique, to conduct, of all things, a Manioc Seminar. The nationals thought the starchy root was only a once-a-year breakfast meal. The Flores delighted the attendees by showing how it could be grown year around and also showed how it could be prepared for many delicious dishes, even cakes and cookies.  The students even learned to make  a manioc/coconut cake and presented it to the Koehn’s for their 16th Wedding anniversary. Pray that such helpful and creative ideas will reach out to the unchurched.

Creative Access Nations Print E-mail
Friday, 14 March 2008

Please pray for our personnel working in Creative Access Nations about whom we cannot publish information.  There are nearly 70 such workers preparing for or already working in Creative Access Nations. Pray for their safety, encouragement, and fruitfulness. God is at work.

Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) Print E-mail
Thursday, 13 March 2008

Continue to pray for the Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This school teaches both missionary children (MK’s) as well as Tanzanians who presently make up one-third of the student body.  Steve and Denae O’Neil report there are 30 different nationalities enrolled this year. They ask us to urgently pray that 13 full-time and five part-time teaching positions will be filled for next year.

David and Sylvia De Jong Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 March 2008

Pray for David and Sylvia De Jong as they minister both in the U.S. and overseas.  David recently returned from Ghana where he and a team of volunteers built a church.  Sylvia’s popular book about widows continues to expand its outreach.  Already it has been translated into several African languages and will soon be translated into French.  Also there is an interest in introducing it to IFCA (Independent Fundamental Churches of America) through a newly published magazine for widows.

Democratic Republic of Congo Print E-mail
Tuesday, 11 March 2008

Distressing news keeps creeping out of Congo, especially around the area of Rethy.  There are very reliable reports of men who were high up in the church leadership who are now participating in witchcraft, even to the sacrificing of family members to obtain financial gain through the influence of the spirits.  There are still faithful believers, but they face extremely difficult situations. Pray for the church in Congo.

TIMO (Training In Ministry Outreach) Print E-mail
Monday, 10 March 2008

Continue to uphold Dave H. and the entire TIMO (Training In Ministry Outreach) staff as they guide existing teams and seek new needy areas.  Dave said, “[Recently] five of us participated in a walk-about on a beautiful island off the coast of Tanzania...we were stunned by the tropical beauty and incredible welcome we felt from the people. Yet, the locals are completely deceived into [worshiping] a lie ensuring their ultimate doom. God has raised up team leaders sensing a call to work there.  Pray that God will open the doors for us to find a way of getting a team to live and work there.”
