March 2009 Prayer Day Print E-mail

Twice a year AIM personnel commune all day in prayer for fellow missionaries and the ministries of AIM as we work together to establish Christ-centered Churches Among All African Peoples.  Friday March 13th will be our first Prayer Day of 2009.  We invite all of our friends and supporters to join us in prayer.

Theme Verse:
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us.

James 5:16b - 17a

We all want to be powerful and effective in prayer.
Wonderful things happened when Elijah prayed.
Can you imagine what it would be like if we had 200 Elijahs kneeling to pray?
We would see the power of God come down and amazing things would happen.
In James 5:17 the Bible says,
“Elijah was a man just like us.”
He was a sinner too.
He had his problems, and his hang-ups just like us.
Yet God chose to answer Elijah’s prayers.
If we have trusted Christ for salvation the Bible tells us we are righteous in God’s eyes.
If we love Him and desire to honour Him God listens to people like us.
God answers the prayers of His children.
So we can be bold as we pray together - knowing that He hears us and has the power to do more than we could even ask or think.
