AIDS has taken the lives of over 17 million Africans. Twelve million children have been orphaned as a result. Countries, especially in the south, are reaching infection rates as high as 36 percent.

In many African cultures, the moment a person acknowledges that they have AIDS they become a social outcast - a death in itself. Only the love of Christ can restore hope and dignity to these broken lives.

Africa Inland Mission has AIDS initiatives throughout our countries of service. These initiatives include compassion ministries, AIDS awareness campaigns, and education.

The AIDS MINISTRY FUND (Project ID: GEN-009) was created to assist in these ministries through the production of AIDS literature, the funding of regional conferences, and to meet the travel expenses of AIDS workers. As a Christian mission agency, AIM has the privilege of presenting real hope to men and women, boys and girls, in an otherwise hopeless situation. AIM continues to seek God’s direction as we explore opportunities to minister to those with AIDS and their families. We’ve made ministry to AIDS victims a primary goal in the next decade.
